BCDI recently partnered with Sister Cities of Hampton and the Hampton Chapter of Links Inc. to promote literacy by donating nearly 800 books to their South Africa Book Drive. This effort will support Sister Cities International’s (SCI) Libraries and Literacy Project. All the selected books were written by Black authors or were deemed culturally appropriate for Black children. They will go to elementary aged students in conjunction with the SCI February Summit in Cape Town, South Africa. Ms. Karen D. Cuthrell and Ms. Lana Wesley authors of “The Feeling Friends” book series “look forward to spreading love in South Africa.” They will be sending a special video message to the children to introduce the book series and help promote social and emotional learning amongst our international partners. |
